In the News: 3-D printed ovary allows infertile mouse to mate and give birth

Dr. Ramille Shah, an assistant professor of materials science and engineering at McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University, and a member of the BIOLIFE4D Science Team, discussed recent regenerative medicine breakthroughs with CNN in May of 2017.

Journalist Susan Scutti proclaimed “a new era of regenerative medicine could be on the horizon,” describing how a 3-D bioprinted ovary enabled an infertile to mouse to mate and give birth. The research conducted by Shah and team was also published in Nature Communications.
