By now you’re aware of BIOLIFE4D’s mission to transform the way heart disease is treated and to save lives by innovating the transplant process. Through our revolutionary 3D bioprinting process, we will produce viable human organs for transplant and provide a higher quality of life for patients.
However, there is another group that we are passionate about helping through the use of our technology – animals. You might now know that due to FDA requirements animals are generally the subject of testing for the safety of drugs and biological products in order to better understand a product’s impact on humans.
But the organs we would produce could potentially provide a viable alternative. How?
One of our first short term milestones is the ability to print a mini heart and we can offer that as an alternative to using animals for testing. We want to save as many lives as we can – human and animal.
We’ll be sharing more with you about our development efforts and the potential for these efforts to reduce animal testing in the coming months. Penetrating this industry also represents a tremendous market opportunity for our company and is another strong motivator behind the further advancement of our technology.
